What Is a Waterproof Optical Connector, and Where is It Used?

December 05, 2025

Feature

The plug and receptacle incorporate standard optical connectors and adapters within a waterproof enclosure.

This design utilizes a common optical connector in the receptacle, simplifying replacement in the event of an internal failure.

For easy operation, the plug (containing a standard connector) features a bayonet lock mechanism.

It connects and disconnects quickly with a single twist, thanks to a pre-mounted receptacle (with embedded standard adapter) on the housing.

All products are RoHS compliant.

Usage

When connecting these products to a device,

the receptacle is first mounted on the housing. A connection is then established between the standard optical connector inside the device and the waterproof optical plug.

When cable extension is required,

interconnection is achieved by mating the two waterproof optical connectors via an adapter.
